America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia serves as the food safety net. Overall, it provides for tens of thousands of children, senior citizens, low-income families, and people with disabilities. Also, they bring food to those who at-risk for hunger throughout southeastern Georgia.
SNAP Assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly Food Stamps) is a nutrition program. Overall, it helps low-income families and individuals buy healthy food.
Economic Opportunity Authority empowers our citizens to achieve economic independence and a higher quality of life.
Old Savannah City Mission serves as an emergency shelter. Further, they run a residential recovery/transition program, distribute meals to inner-city children, and provides food and clothing for families in crisis.
PeachCare for Kids offers free to low cost health insurance to uninsured, eligible children living in Georgia.
Wesley Community Centers of Savannah, Inc. services include early childhood education. Also, they run a center for women, a food pantry, and a career clothing closet.
